Patty Evanoff is a Senior UX & Visual Designer here at DOOR3. We asked her a few questions to get to know her better.
What do you do at DOOR3?
My role involves everything before designs get passed off to programmers. That includes everything in the process of discovery/define/design. From defining user goals to determining the best user flows and layouts, to applying visual design to make the wireframes come to life.
What advice would you give to recent new hires?
Learn from the processes we have and take advantage of being in an environment where you can make things happen and introduce your ideas.
What are 3 words you would use to describe DOOR3?
Thoughtful, self-starting, analytical
What do you like best about your job?
The environment, the people, the ability to make ideas happen, the variety and learning
Before working at DOOR3, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
It's maybe unusual that I worked at a gas station (making food) in the summers between high school and college. My most interesting job was working in group homes for individuals with developmental disabilities. I got to do some fun things in that job like play Wii, watch Harry Potter, and go to a water park with residents as part of my job.
What is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
I love to travel so there have been a lot of best places. My last trip was to Cuba which was a really unique and amazing place. My favorite there was Trinidad de Cuba which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with colored houses and cobblestone streets. I also loved all the live music in Cuba. A few years ago I took a trip to Africa and Botswana & Namibia were my favorites there. Italy was the first place I traveled internationally (besides Canada) and will always be one of my favorites as well. I tend to love small old cities and beautiful natural environments.
