Engagement Manager

We’re looking for an Engagement Manager that can help us lead the charge, bringing smart, strategic thinking and proven leadership skills to help our teams take their work to the next level.


The Engagement Manager will serve as a core member of our Engagement practice, planning projects up-front and managing our internal estimation process across teams. You’ll define the right approaches and solutions for companies and lead proposal efforts, selling potential clients on just why DOOR3 is the right fit for their needs.

The Engagement Manager will also work with existing clients, managing projects we’re delivering and identifying new ways to deepen and grow our client relationships. You’ll help guide clients through DOOR3 highly collaborative process, facilitating client participation and communicating regularly with senior clients to proactively manage the relationship. The Engagement Manager is responsible for being the lead strategic consultant to the client and charged with big-picture strategic thinking, but you’ll also have the opportunity to assemble and manage our cross-discipline teams by drawing on our Project Management, Business Analysis, UX, Engineering and QA groups. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that they stay on task and on target, producing the most innovative work we can and exceeding client expectations.

What you’ll be doing

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, communicating as needed to identify needs, proactively managing the project roadmap, and developing their understanding of DOOR3 proposals, processes, and end solutions
  • Maintaining and growing client relationships, identifying business development opportunities, and managing the financial profitability of engagements
  • Managing relationships with client's senior leadership team and communicating status and issues regularly
  • Overseeing and leading DOOR3 Project Managers and diverse teams to deliver integrated solutions that achieve measurable business results for our clients, ensuring that the work is successfully executed, meets or even exceeds quality standards, and satisfies project goals
  • Serving as the lead strategic consultant on projects and executing big-picture strategic thinking
  • Developing specific, measurable, and prioritized client business objectives and frequently reporting on progress
  • Managing large, complex programs to an acceptable level of risk by balancing scope, time, cost and quality
  • Working with DOOR3’s discipline leads and functional managers to ensure that accounts are properly resourced and quality standards are being met or exceeded
  • Negotiating, defining, communicating, and managing the scope of activities with clients
  • Supporting our Business Development team as a Solutions Consultant, defining and communicating processes and deliverables to potential clients
  • Planning DOOR3 projects or work packages up front by leading the internal estimation process with discipline leads
  • Creating and writing contractual agreements (Statements of Work) to define work product and scope for clients

What we’d like to see

  • Experience managing cross-functional digital development teams
  • Experience estimating project pricing and resourcing for various methodology projects, esp Agile project planning
  • Must have been part of multiple full project life-cycles and worked in a client-facing role
  • Experience coordinating delivery teams that span a variety of disciplines, and geographic locations, including technology, user experience, and design
  • Experience managing multiple projects at clients simultaneously (preferably in an integrated program)
  • Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously in different phases of project life-cycle
  • Experience identifying follow on opportunities to allow for growing client engagement
  • Experience in sales efforts such as writing proposals, RFP responses, and other sales-related activities
  • Familiarity with Waterfall, Agile and Iterative Development methodologies
  • Previous technology consulting experience is highly desired
  • Prior experience in a technology role preferred
