On September 11, 2018, DOOR3 won a Web Marketing Association (WMA) 2018 WebAward for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development. The winning entry, Knovel–Web Application for Engineers, received the Science Standard of Excellence distinction for the newly redesigned user experience developed by the DOOR3 team. Criteria used by the WMA to rank the 2018 entries included ease of use, copywriting, interactivity, use of technology, innovation, and content.
Knovel, a web application for chemical engineers, is a custom software solution designed for Elsevier that helps engineers improve their operational efficiency and productivity, and solve problems quickly with technical reference content sourced from over 140 providers. The sophisticated data discovery algorithm integrates validated content, optimized search, access to technical data, and a multitude of visual, intuitive data analysis tools. This custom software application has become a major asset for chemical engineers because it integrates seamlessly into their daily.
